Yoga 3 Pro Freezes Constantly Laptops. This might be the solution.Ive had this Yoga 3 Pro freezing problem for about 6 months.Lenovo_IdeaPad_U310_2.jpg' alt='Lenovo Ultrabook U310 Drivers Download' title='Lenovo Ultrabook U310 Drivers Download' />Its only the last month that I discerned it would freeze when the screen was moved.Apparently theres a sensor in the hinge.I read in this thread that disabling the wifi adapter seemed to keep it from freezing so as weird as it sounded, I went into the device manager to try disabling it.Instead, before disabling it, I right clicked to see if there was a driver update for the Broadcom 8.Network Adapter driver under Network Devices. There was an update available, which is unusual, as I dont think Ive ever had it find an update through the device manager. So, I let it update over the web and it completed in about 2.Lenovo Group Ltd.Lenovo PC International or shortened as Lenovo l n o v o lehnOHvoh formerly stylized as lenovo is a Chinese multinational.I then moved the screen again to test it, and it froze again just like the previous 7 1.Id just endured in the past 3.Seeing it didnt work, I rebooted, realizing the driver was updated but obviously not loaded until rebooted duh.I rebooted and have not had it freeze since, even though in the past whenever I would move the screen open or close it even a tiny bit, it would freeze.Im swinging it forward and back full tilt now and nothing. No freezing. Is it fixed Seems to be but time will tell.If it lasts the week, Ill consider it a true fix and will post back here.If it turns out to be a true fix, this should be reposted on Lenovo and other forums as Ive looked everywhere for a solution to this and know that many others are also trying to solve this VERY annoying problem and that Lenovo has been 1.USELESS in solving it shame on them for their horrid support in handling this major problem.Did I mention I will never buy another Lenovo as long as I live after this Nice going, Lenovo.Anyway, it cant hurt to at least try disablingupdating the Broadcom driver if you have this freezing issue.I was on Windows 8.Windows 1. 0 thinking it might help fix the freezing, but it didnt help at all.As a side note, if youre on Windows 1.I recommend Spybots free Anti Beacon, which is anti telemetry software that blocks Win 1.Im about to switch to Apple as Microsoft is being a bunch of evil nitwits with this pure spyware masquerading as an operating system.Let me know if either disabling or updating the Broadcom 8.Network Adapter driver helps anyone else.Just right click it under Network Adapters and then click Update Driver Software or you can try disabling it from there if no update is available. For me, it updated to version 7.Maybe its just a weird coincidence because who on earth would suspect that a wifi driver would have anything to do with a laptop freezing when the screen is movedadjusted Bizarre. But, Im VERY happy for now.If this ends up being the fix, major props and thanks to Revihs for pointing out this apparent connection between the freezing and the wifi driver.Would not have guessed that in a million years.Asus Zenbook UX3.A review the most affordable Asus ultrabook.I have the i. 5 version of this ultrabook, and have swapped out the 5.GB hard drive for an SSD, dropping in an extra 8 GB RAM while already having it open. Avg Antivirus 2011 Trial Reset Kaspersky . What reviewer is saying is true, the original Windows came with loads of crap that even when uninstalling didnt do much of a justice to the notebook. So I swapped the drive and plugged in external USB DVD drive. What an idiot, me.So heres a spoiler for anyone who thinks of doing the same This notebook only has USB 3 sockets.Windows 7 installation disc only comes with USB 2 drivers. So what youll need to do is build a USB installation disc, with one file custom built to insert the drivers in it.That might be a pain, but you can find instructions on Google Anyway, apart from loading much quicker than from hard drive alas using that 3.GB i. SSD cache earlier, which I now dont, it is still a sluggish machine. And it has a nasty issue it often forgets to switch video card on.This demonstrates itself when it goes to sleep, you wake it up, lights come up but the screen is blank.Or when booting up, you can see ASUS logo, the Windows 7 loading logo, but when the login prompt should show and you hear that familiar Windows start sound, the screen is blank. To get it back to life, one needs to close the lid, wait 1.Utterly annoying. This was happening on the original configuration as well and I stupidly thought Windows reinstall would fix itScreen is actually IPS, although standard resolution, not Full.HD of the Prime series.Wifi and bluetooth receiption are fine, but theres no LAN.It has a USB3 to LAN adapter as well as some micro display port to VGA included, but it is disappointingly only 1.For VGA doesnt matter so much, as theres also mini HDMI which can output full HD there. While the body of laptop seems quite durable, the plastic casing of the power supply is really scratch magnet. And overall the plug seems very insecure.I wish ASUS copied Mag.Safe adapter from Apple, if they already stole most of the rest of design. As said earlier, speakers are very good for the size of notebook, microphone is clear, and i.Phone headset or standard headphones can be used if thats not enough.Using V Moda Crossfades XP the sound quality was excellent.Webcam is somewhat standard quality, nothing to write home about, and wish it had privacy shutter, which it does not.Keyboard is way below par, compared to Mac.Book AirPro one, and has power button built in top right.Like Caps Lock and Wireless F2 theres a tiny light in the button to show function is on.But Wifi light often forgets to turn on which is annoying a bit.Like mentioned, the top line of buttons is really small, and easy to press wrong button, especially if you dont illuminate them.On the good side, it has backlighting, although not as good as Mac.Book ProAir. It is not even. Also the clicking when typing isnt particularly reassuring.Lets say it this way Mac keyboard is miles ahead of this one.The sleep light is on the right side.Strange place to put it.With SSD inside and using USB 3 thumbdrive, the transfer speeds were amazing between stick and SSD, and vice versa. One of the USBs on the left is high powered, to charge ASUS tablet. It also stays on when you power off laptop.Great way to flatten battery unintentionally. The best features for which I can even forget screen not coming up half of the time, slow CPU performance, crappy keyboard and barely passable trackpad it is now, that I turned off tap to click, as well as not too solid construction, are these light below 1.Mac. Book Pro, I often thought I forgot to take laptop with me or someone stole it battery life easily exceeding 5 hours even at moderate usage upgradeable the fact that you can change HDD for SSD or another HDD as long as its 7 mm high and replace one stick of RAM 2 GB is soldered on board, another 2 GB is on standard SO DIMM card without voiding warranty is wonderful easy to replace battery, despite speakers attached to it lets face it, battery will die one day, and you dont want to have Mac.Book Pro Retina, when that happensHonestly I was tempted with UX3.GB of slow Sandisk SSD PS that 3.GB i. SSD on UX3.Sandisk, which cant really be changed, being custom format and all the RAM soldered on board, limiting the notebook to 4 GB RAM.Had there been 2.GB SSD model with a reasonably speedy SSD Samsung, OCZ, Intel, Crucial, and at least 8 GB RAM version I would find it hard to resist.Am I happy with it Now that Ive put my own, clean Windows on, installed SSD and more RAM yes, its a lovely thing that is never missing in my backpack when I travel. It is more than adequate for what I do on the road. But it is certainly not something that would replace the speedy desktop that I am just sitting in front of.
